BMC's unique and award winning design was developed through a profound knowledge of the forces which stress individual points of the frame. The junctions where you are in direct contact with your frame are naturally the crucial points where the stress is concentrated and strongest.
We make sure that performance is the guiding criteria behind the solutions we forge with our material and frame technology. We brook no compromise regarding performance related issues : refusing to sacrifice security and comfort while finding the optimal balance between weight and rigidity.
Our advancements in lightweight frame constructions are possible only through the use of the most modern computer simulations. Actual stresses resulting from on-the-road uses of finished products can be simulated already in the design phase by employing CAD and complex FEM programs (Finite Elements Methods). Potential weak points and unnecessary accumulations of material can be uncovered and corrected in advance.
In state of the art test laboratories, our engineering and testing partner FUTEC test the prototypes, analyzing and optimizing them in accordance with our extremely high performance criteria for each finished product before it ever goes into production. Consequently, every one of our frames adheres to the particularly strict European CEN standards of construction.
Skeleton concepts SCC, iSC, and the new BSCBMC has defined its brand name through its technical advances. The unique juncture of our seat tube cluster which ideally distributes forces remains our most visible innovation. For the racemaster SLX01 we have developed a Bonded Skeleton Concept BSC which embraces the seat tube, aiding in the distribution of forces by providing a larger adhesive surface. This innovation achieves an extremely rigid and absolutely safe carbon-aluminum interface at this very important junction. Advanced development of the integrated skeleton design enables forces to be distributed in the vicinity of the nodal points by the use of carefully selected reinforcing elements. Each tube transition point can be perfectly adapted to the fl ow of forces, so enabling an unprecedented rigidity-to-weight ratio to be achieved in conjunction with the sophisticated tube cross sections. |

Monocoque or Multi-mould SystemOne of the most efficient concepts in the lightweight construction is the shell construction or monocoque construction. The bottom bracket of the new trailfoxes TF01 and TF02 consists of two half shells welded together. The resulting juncture is enormously rigid and light at the same time. All forces are directed toward the half shell junctions. This allows for a reduction in the weight of the adjacent three-pronged tube trident. The forged and CNC machined dropouts are manufactured according to the same principles. Simply light, rigid, and unbelievably beautiful. Depending on the frame, the proven yet complex monocoque design or our new multi-mould system is recommended. Precisely determined sections enables particularly tight manufacturing tolerances. The frame joints are located away from the heavily stressed nodal points at non-critical parts of the cross-section. With extremely precise moulding, we eliminated the need for any subsequent machining which would inevitably damage the fibers. |

Carbon Nano TubesDue to the CNTs' perfect geometry and purity, NASA calls it the strongest material structure in the world. In close cooperation with EASTON, the synthetic resin fiber matrix is impregnated and strenghtened with evenly distributed carbon nano tubes. The result is a 20% increase in the stiffness and compactness of the matrix while the weight of the material remains virtually unchanged. The tubular carbon molecules consist of pure carbon atoms arranged in six and five-sided patterns, resembling the pieces of a typical football. Their diameter is only a few nanometres, but their perfect shape gives them many times higher relative strength than carbon fibers. |

Advanced Pivot System APSOur proven rear triangle mechanics featuring the legendary pivot system and the compact and very rigid triangle have been further enhanced with a view to greater performance and forward thrust. In close cooperation with our suppliers, the suspension systems are meticulously adjusted to fit each frame perfectly. The result is one of the most efficient suspension systems in the cycling industry. |

System IntegrationFor all BMC frames, the calibration and integration of important juncture points become ever more important. Starting with the TT01, we continue to emphasize this approach with the racemaster SLX01 and the roadracer models SL01 and SLW01. The fork and the ingenious Streampost 73.5 seat post were developed in-house in such a customized way that they are perfectly compatible with the BMC frame systems. With our off-road products – MTB-Fullys – you will be impressed by the natural born postmount. This is one of many clever solutions which strengthen the entire frame system while at the same time ensuring an intuitive ease of use. |

team. Our three "Captains of the
Road" are long-time professionals and will
use their life and sport experiences to
help guide and educate the younger riders,
without having to take on the classic
role of team leader during races. Depending
on individual strengths and the race
situation at hand, each rider will attack
and search for his luck in races. We hope
that the freshness and honesty of our racing
will celebrate our joy in racing, and
capture the hearts of cycling fans everywhere.
