"The Sov", man-in-charge from Surly spent the entire weekend with us riding bike through Topanga State Park, grilling burgers and greeting fans of Surly.

Salsa guys came out to LA and hung out with us at the shop. After a great ride through the State Park, we threw chicken on the grill and had one of the best meals.
Why We Love Salsa Bicycles
Salsa sure knows how to spice things up by creating high-tech frames made out of exotic Scandium alloy. Scandium, number 21 (right next to Titanium) on the periodic table, is a rare element and is difficult to extract from raw ore. Salsa has the technology and frame building knowledge to make these Scandium frames light weight and strong, and yet are designed to enhance all your senses while you ride. We took the Salsa guys on Topanga trails and had a blast on their new bad boy Fargo. And one of our shop racers who races Chili Con Crosso can attest how Salsa truly injects fun into everything they build.

BMC gave us the VIP treatment when we visited them in Switzerland in 2008. They took us mountain biking through the woods, gave us a grand tour of the factory, then took us for an amazing meal on the Aar River in Berne.
Why We Love BMC Bicycles
Situated in Grenchen Switzerland, BMC designs and manufactures world-class performance bicycles alongside Rolex and Movado in the Swiss "precision watch valley". Their continued focus on engineering, design and quality allow them to produce distinguished products with unique beauty and influence. Despite all the success they have had in the racing circuit, they rolled out the red carpet for us when we visited in the summer of 2008. We credit their genuine hospitality and friendship combined with stunning beauty of the Swiss Alps that surrounded us to be the true inspiration for what Topanga Creek Bicycles is today.

Why We Love Jamis Bicycles
For 30 years, Jamis have concentrated on doing what they do best — designing and building the kinds of bikes we want to ride. Jamis takes a no-nonsense, zero-gimmicks approach to their bikes. Bikes are designed to perform, and Jamis does it by focusing on details, rather than chasing the latest trends or creating hype. It's a formula that works. They never set out to be big. They just wanted to make some great bikes. We love their approach and have seen successes since day one when we sold our first Jamis to our friend Collin who's on the board of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. That was 6 years ago and he still rides his Coda as a commuter bike everyday. Jamis bikes truly are the perfect blend of function and values all in one package.

Why We Love Pivot Bicycles
Pivot Cycles is the brainchild of two industry gurus - Chris Cocalis (founder of Titus) and Dave Weagal (inventor of the DW Link). The DW-link suspension design produces the ultimate ride. The perfect balance of traction, acceleration, square edge bump performance, superior braking, and the ability to handle big hits with ease is what Pivot bikes are known for. The DW-link's patented position sensitive anti-squat eliminates pedal bob during hard pedaling and gives the bike additional traction while climbing, as well as helping propel the bike forward during sprinting. No wonder Pivot won two of the "Best Of Mtbr.com 2009" in Full Suspension XC and Full Suspension All Mountain categories.

Why We Love Niner Bicycles
29ers are getting so much buzz in the recent years because of their superb riding characteristics. In addition, Niner makes available extensive range of frame geometries and materials such as Scandium and carbon to suit all riding styles. Once you try a Niner we're sure it'll put a huge grin on your face.

Why We Love Maverick Bicycles
Maverick makes bikes that climb like monsters and descend like demons. They changed the way people think about long travel bikes. Maverick's exclusive technologies such as MonoLink frame design, integrated shock body and inverted fork design make them stand out from the crowd. Our shop racer Scott has been riding his Maverick for years and he loves the bike for its versatility, efficienty and simplicity. Enough said.

Why We Love Torelli Bicycles
Torelli bicycles long have a reputation for having the classic Italian good looks based on their deep European roots. Combined with modern steel tubing technologies and expert craftsmanship, Torelli frames are race ready and comfortable to ride. They take special pride in the time-consuming and extensive frame preparation performed on every frame while still making it affordable for all cycling enthusiasts. Torelli also puts heavy emphasis on total customization of the frame. You start the process by picking the frame model, then choose from one of the eleven standard paint colors or a custom color, as long as it's part of the Dupon Imron family since it's the paint choice of most high-end builders. Lastly you choose a decal of your choice. Todd, the owner of Torelli who visits our shop frequently, says he can accommodate just about any special request to make the bike unique to individual's taste.

Why We Love Lapierre Bicycles
Lapierre celebrates 60 years of innovation and creative bike designs. As the official partner of France's Francaise des Jeux Pro racing team, Lapierre's long history of success has helped to firmly establish its name in both road and mountain biking. Partnership with the team also played a big role in the development of their carbon road frames which are identical to those used by the pro riders, allowing you the opportunity to truly experience the ultimate ride. Lapierre is also known for its legendary R&D and quality control programs. All of the bikes are hand-assembled in France by factory-certified technicians, who sign off on the Bike Pass delivered with each bike. And the fact that all of us at the shop own a Lapierre says something about our passion for these French bikes.

Why We Love Ridley Bicycles
Belgium made Ridley bicycles was started in 1997 and quickly became the market leader in Belgium for racing bikes in just a few short years. Their name has spread around the world as well with the success of Damocles and Helium. Ridley's relentless need for speed and obsession with aerodynamics allowed them to develope the patented R-Surface aerodynamic paint which reduces the drag on the frame by up to 4%. All we can say is wow. This is why two of our shop racers ride Ridley for all their races.
